Review: Carnage is Roman Polanski having tons of fun! You’ve probably read the plot summary, and then saw the cast and chose that it was worth seeing. It beyond doubt is! It’s a very small film, and that’s a excellent business because a setting and plot organize like this can’t be too long or else the wit dies down. Thankfully it never did, and Carnage had me laughing really hard, and very often. The entire cast is fantastic, and hard to rank (Reily is beyond doubt the weakest if I had to choose). The cinematography is also brilliant, as it is focused on the right subjects at the right time. I don’t expect this to be a huge hit at the Academy Awards, but I do wish that Waltz, Winslet, and Foster get some concentration, as well as the marvelous script. A minor small masterful film from Polanski. Also, fantastic ending.
